Pray the Devil back to Hell Screening

Posted by Coman Communications on February 2, 2012

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March, TWEP is hosting a screening of the film Pray the Devil back to Hell.

Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by a decades-old civil war.  The women’s historic yet unsung achievement finds voice in a narrative that intersperses contemporary interviews, archival images, and scenes of present-day Liberia together to recount the experiences and memories of the women who were instrumental in bringing lasting peace to their country.

The event will take place at Sutton Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton at 7pm on 8 March and is presented with the support of the Sutton Equalities and Diversity Forum.

Tickets £5 each can be obtained from TWEP’s office.

Breakfast Seminar well attended

Posted by Coman Communications on October 25, 2011

A dozen women attended TWEP’s Empowerment Breakfast on Saturday.  With presentations from Diana Powell from The Global Institute of Entrepreneurship and Sandra Russell who spoke about dressing for success, the group discussed issues such as barriers to making changes in one’s personal and working life and first impressions.

One participant who had not attended a women’s meeting before, but found the experience of being in the company of  similarly minded women hugely encouraging.
