About TWEP

The Women’s Empowerment Project (TWEP) , is a UK based international, non-governmental organisation that is committed to advancing the education of African women and girls to realise their full potential as confident, independent and skilled individuals.  TWEP is committed to building women’s awareness around issues that affect them, as well as building their capacity to make positive choices concerning their lives.

These aims are achieved by:

  • providing a platform for African women and girls to project thier voices
  • promoting the culture and image of African women and girls
  • building and improving facilities for learning
  • addressing issues that hinder the educational opportunities and progress of African women and girls
  • establishing networks that harness the solidarity of African women and girls
  • conducting research that informs policy around issues that affect African women and girls
  • increasing the participation and access of African women and girls in their communities
