Work starts on Buduburam Community Library and Resource Centre

Posted by Coman Communications on September 30, 2005

This month sees the start of the construction of the library and resource centre project in Buduburam, Ghana.

The facility which will be named Buduburam Settlement Library and Resource Centre, will serve the settlement of 42,000 residents.

The main beneficiaries of the library will be the students and staff of Buduburam Community School, although members of the community will also have the opportunity to sue the facility.

The project will cost an estimated £20,000 including books and salaries.  Although funding for the initial stage of the project has been secured, fundraising  continues;  proceeds from the sponsored walk planned for November will be donated to this project.

TWEP is also looking for businesses that would be willing to sponsor any parts of the building work.

If you would like to donate any books, or make a financial donation towards the project, contact the organisation.
