Women in Exile – one-day conference

The Women’s Empowerment Project, in collaboration with of Millennium Awards and Medical Foundation, is holding a one-day conference on Women in Exile: A Global Perspective.

The objectives of the conference are: 

  • to provide a platform and give a voice to women whose experiences are unshared and untold
  • to raise awareness around issues that specifically affect women who are refugees in the UK
  • to consider the reasons for migration from African countries
  • to promote positive images of women who are refugees in the UK
  • to provide networking opportunities for Second Tier organisations, academics, service providers and those working in development in relation to Africa
Who should attend?
  • African Community organisations that provide services to refugee women
  • Second Tier organisations that support refugee organisations
  • Students and researchers
  • Mainstream organisations that provide support to African refugee women
  • Anyone that has an interest in Africa and women’s issues

Time:  9.30am to 4.30pm

Venue: Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London, WC1

Tickets:  Free (travel costs will be reimbursed)
